Is this a good deal on GL40

While checking out a new LCS,I came across a nice VG copy of GL40,first Crisis,ect. Owner had 475 marked but is willing to go $50.pages are cream with a faint odor

Pass or pay?

Am I missing something here? The owner is going down from $475 to $50...? Did he just drop a bundle on college hoops?

 

As for the price itself: $475 for a VG is waay outta line to begin with. I have a CGC 8.0 that I don't expect more than $300 for. I haven't check the current going rate on ebay in a couple of months, but it's safe to say his original asking price is very Chuck-like.

 

Now, $50 for a VG...

Do YOU agree to that grade, or is that just his opinion? I know you can't offer up a scan since it's in his store, so I'll say that IF it has sufficient eye appeal, then it's worth it as a collector.

 

But for flippin' purposes, uh no.

Some professors at my law school used to permit students to type their exams. There was a famous story of one student who turned in an exam where one page was complete gobbledygook, and the prof, being a sharp fellow like you, figured out that the guy typed everything on that page one key over, retraced the page and gave the guy a passing grade. Me, I would have flunked the guy for not proofreading his exam before turning it in... Better for him to learn the hard way in school than when a client is paying him big bucks!

You can probably pick up a copy for that cheaper on ebay. Unless somehting drastic has changed a copies around fine weren't even getting hits with $75 BINs most of the time. They usually got about $50.
