"New baby" GA sale... SCREAMING good deals! Fiction House...

40 posts in this topic

Hey folks,

Well, baby wants more formula and diapers, and daddy wants more comics... :) ... so I'm going to be offering up some golden age Fiction House. A handful of Planet Comics plus a few others... very cool books, reasonably priced.

While I normally ship within a day or two of payment, my schedule is quite demanding lately, plus weekday runs to the post office are getting trickier to do as tax-time lines kick in... so with that in mind, it may well take me up to a week to ship packages. If it does take that long, I will certainly keep you posted on the ETA. Feel free to PM if any particular concerns re timing.

Shipping is extra at cost. Thanks for looking! (thumbs u

Planet Comics #29 in .5. Reader of a terrific 1944 Planet, with stories drawn by EC great Graham Ingels and the talented Lily Renee! Many problems with this book...the back cover has been married from another source and is not correct for this issue, though it is original and vintage. Spine is restapled and taped from inside. On top of that, there's moisture damage through the book; while the pages are reasonably flat with minimal rippling, there is some discoloration/staining on every page (see photos). Whew! With all that said, it's still a very affordable early Planet with a complete interior.

Planet Comics #34 in 1.0/1.5. Classic "good girl in bondage" cover! Not only is the cover fantastic, but this particular lady's pose was swiped for many other Fiction House comic and pulp covers. Low-grade copy... main problem is slight brittleness to some of the corners and edges, resulting in some chipping to the bottom right corner of some pages (see 2nd photo for the worst of it), and a somewhat weak/splitty spine with a bit of glue resecuring it. Also a tear through the "ET" of Planet on the cover. With reasonable care the book can be read and enjoyed without further damage. Very decent reader/filler with a great cover.

Planet Comics #38 in .5/1.0. Another great cover, but interior pages are brittle/rounded/chipped around the edges; covers and pages were near-completely split at spine and are resealed with glue. Still, looks decent, readable with care. More great art in this one. Cheap!

Planet Comics #46 in 1.8. But geez, the nicest-looking 1.8 ever. Flat & glossy book with terrific color strike. Spine split of an inch or so at bottom spine. Pages are slightly brittle around the edges, with chipping to bottom corners...but as you can see from the photos, no worse than "slightly". Another Planet with terrific art and stories.

Planet Comics #47 in 3.0. Very attractive black-covered book, general wear but very solid and clean. Front presents more like a 4.0. There's a 2" tear and some stains on the back cover. Supple pages. Insane bondage/decapped-heads splash. Nice book!

Planet Comics #55 in 3.0. Solid, quite attractive lower-grade copy with nice deep color strike and supple pages. Cool GGA cover (one of my faves from this part of run) and stories. Back cover has a corner piece out, and there's a 1.5" piece of clear tape at the top of the spine. Nice pages and book.
