Attempt in saving an Amazing Spider-man issue.

 

Last week or so I purchase a cover-less issue of Amazing Spider-man 3 (1st Doc OCt). and before I sent it to get CGC I had a repro cover (inside and out / front and back) attached to said issue. Just curious to see if anyone has done this and what did CGC decided on its' fate? Sorry I have no pic but will update journal upon its return from CGC

Just to test out how much a repro cover would do to its grading. Would it bring it up or would it go down.

And if it goes up would it be worth it to buy coverless isues and fix them up.

Doesn't a book with a repro cover get a NG label?

I think it gets a purple label (restored) but either SP or EA. SP=professional or EA=amateur.

I think there is a good chance it will get NG'd or .5'd.

 

Also, if you are going to be dabbling in resto books, the E, M, and S stand for Extensive, Moderate and Slight, which in turn can either be professional or amateur.

I have done that before and it got a NG grade. Also check out some of the comics on e-bay, like Detective Comics 27 graded with repro cover http://cgi.ebay.com/Detective-27-CGC-NG-Universal-Real-Original-1st-Batman-/160588545211?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2563d2bcbb They will not give a grade to it sadly just a NG......
