the microscopic details of a new fantastical world he wishes to share with

everyone. That is the world of the Cursed Pirate Girl, his creator owned,

all ages comic book. He has also contributed to the Eisner winning

Looking forward to the announcement. Dumb question but if I have some SS series books already that I would like to get a sig or two added to at the Cincy show will the CGC Facilator be able to help me with such a request? If the answer is yes what is the process for this? Crack it out of the slab in front of the Facilator? Let the Facilator do this? My wife is gonna kill me by the end of this show with how much I am looking to spend. Going all out since this is my first real comic show in 15 years since I really just got back into comics this year.

Thanks!

Harvest Home Parade

Cosplayers wanted! Are you the mild-mannered minimum wage earning taxpayer at day and a disguised costumed superhero at night? The Cincinnati Comic Expo has just the event for you.

The annual Harvest Home Fair Parade will kick-off the Harvest Home Fair. "The Biggest Little Fair in Ohio" has been a staple on the Westside of Cincinnati for over 150 years. The Cincinnati Comic Expo has secured space in the parade and now we are inviting you to participate and make us one of the more memorable groups.

Get out your costumes or outfits, and if you do not have one, you better get out the sewing machine. We are looking for cosplayers of all shapes and sizes. You get to be apart of one of Cincinnati’s greatest traditions and it will not cost you a thing. All designs are welcomes….Superman, Supergirl, Red Robin, Spiderman, zombies, Wonder Woman, Star Wars stormtroopers, jedis, Batman, or whatever can show off your stitching skills.

Greater Cincinnati artist Billy Tackett has made a poster to help us advertise the parade at local comic book stores. The parade is Thursday, 9/8/11. We ask that everyone meet at Up Up & Away Comics, 4016 Harrison Ave. – just near the start of the parade route. The parade starts at 6pm, but we will start to gather at 4pm, so everyone is accounted for and organized. Please email Andrew at Andrew@cincinnatcomicexpo.com to register. Give him you name, phone number or email address, and what character you are coming as.

Please keep the costumes family friendly.

Who doesn’t like a good parade? So, grab your friends, your kids, and your friend’s kids and come on down! Here is the parade route for anyone that has friends or family who would rather watch, than walk. Link

Cincinnati Comic Expo Silent Art Auction

The 2011 auction theme is titled “Helping Others With Captain America." It was easy to select the iconic Captain America franchise because the Cincinnati Comic Expo is hosting 5 artists of the comic through various eras. Another reason for selection is the Hollywood movie of the character earlier this summer.

All proceeds will be divided among the following causes.

1) Everyday Hero Award - The Everyday Hero Award is recognition of people in the local community created by the Cincinnati Comic Expo. It is awarded to an individual that goes above and beyond in public service. It could be a teacher that made a difference or a firefighter that risked his life to save another. The individual selected for this award will receive a plaque recognizing their achievement, a write up in the program, a swag bag loaded with goodies and VIP treatment at the show.

2) Comic Creator Give Back – Beginning in 2012 we would like to offer tables to those creators that have supported us the most by placing their name in a drawing. For every year they attend another chance will be added to the drawing to increase their chances. We will then offer free/discounted tables to the lucky names drawn for the next Cincinnati Comic Expo. We see this as an opportunity to continue a relationship with many artists and yet reward them for being loyal and coming back year after year.

3) Cub Scout Pack 186 – The Bridgetown pack consisting of boys ages 6 – 11 is in dire need of a new Pine Wood Derby track. For those that don’t know, the Pine Wood Derby is one of the most exciting events for a Cub Scout. The annual event enhances parent/guardian and son relationships as they work together to construct a pinewood derby car. Pack 186 had to reschedule this year’s derby because the outdated track and timers failed.

The Cincinnati Comic Expo was overwhelmed by donations for the auction in 2010. The auction had over 90 pieces by various artists donated to the causes at the time and it took nearly 2 hours to complete the sales. To manage the auction better, we are seeking items by invitation only and going to a silent auction format. First, only a handful of artists attending the show are being asked to contribute. Second, the pieces will be displayed on the show floor gallery, with a bid sheet, where contributors can write down their bid amount and contact information. The auction will be closing at 3pm, so the bid winners can be contacted to collect their prize before the show has ended and everyone has departed.

We are posting the images below so you can see what will be offered and you can collect your allowance and cash those birthday checks from grandma! Come out and open your wallets for some rare and original pieces of work, all for very worthwhile causes. We will be adding them as we receive them, so check this out here or Silent Auction Link http://www.cincinnaticomicexpo.com/silentartauction.php frequently for new pieces!
