CBM is terrible now. It's gone from a great mag with in-depth research by people with passion (Jon Berk, Gary Carter, Pat Kochanek) to a rag that has 2 kinds of articles: 1) Russ stroking himself or someone he personally knows, or 2) "Here's why I like this book" - WHO CARES?!?!

 

The latest Back Issue was great, and this month's Alter Ego is almost entirely Frankenstein - including a Wrightson interview and some unpublished Briefer strips. I bought all 3 on the same day, scanned through the CBM and tossed it aside. I doubt I'll get to it at all.

I will have to check out Back Issue. I didn't mind the latest CBM mostly because I am new to horror comic collecting (only 8-12 months) and I like reading anything about it, no matter how simplistic. It is all relatively fresh to me!

While I haven't seen it up close yet, I heard the latest CBM (114?) actually has a color repro of the cover to issue 3 of HORROR COMICS REVIEW in the Pete Von Sholly article. Yeah! 893applaud-thumb.gif
