In honor of Jeffrey Catherine Jones...I dug out this short run to scan. Jones did one cover and the one that Neal Adams did (#2)..unless someone told me it was Neal, it might be the only work that I wouldn't recognize easily.

the printer crease on the top edge of #1 made the book look worse than it is.

That's a beautiful set. I found this really great blog named http://womenrunningfromhouses.blogspot.com/ . It's some amusing writing about the gothic romance genre. She writes mostly about the novels but there is a very interesting section about the DC comics and why they were a failure. It also has a great collection of cover art of the thousands of books using the "scared woman running from a house" motiff. Jones did quite a few paperback covers for this genre as well.

This may be a little off topic but has anyone heard about this book or have any idea why it may be this expensive? It's a trade paperback from 2007 reprinting a few stories from Eerie publication mags of the 70's. Retail, it was $18.99. The cheapest copy on amazon is $1976.00 and the most expensive is $3658.00.

Wow, that's crazy! Why so much? (shrug)

I picked this up when it came out and brought it up in a thread over in comic magazines Link

I'm not sure if this is Bronze or Silver, but I just won this for $23 over at Comicconnect. It's suppose to be 8.5, but I haven't rec'd it yet to confirm.

I had a copy a long time ago when I was collecting so I'm very happy to get this again.

Love both books, Sterling... have always liked the blue& red on the cover of WH 4.

Agreed! Just realized that's the cover used for the DC Showcase Presents that reprints the first 19 issues of WH. The reprint does not do justice to the original.
