Are they just variant covers or is there difference internally?

sometimes the covers are uploaded by customers... just a heads-up.

They may also be different editions, DC and Marvel have tweaked their Showcase/Essential cover/spine look over the years

Ah, that seems to be the case (uploaded orig covers) on many like GL/GA, WW, Witching Hour.

Wonder why on earth they would do that.
