One of my all time fav covers plus it was "my first" so's I'm kinda emotionally attached to it also thumbsup2.gif

Usually green & red don't go together but this cover is the exception!

HOS and HOM have so many great covers that it's hard to for me to pick a favorite, but I really do like that #100. Phantom Stranger favs for me are the #10, #12 and #26. My favorite HOIM covers are both by Berni Wrightson. They are #'s 217 and 236. Sadly, I don't own either one of these, but I'm still looking!!!

yes the hos100 deserves the "classic" notation overstreet gives it. It is one of my favorites as well. I think they miss the boat giving classic to hom231 because 236 is far superior (and that my favorite wrightson HOM, with 207 right behind, because that was MY first older issue as a kid and its a great image thumbsup2.gif)

Don't you guys think that the HOM & HOS books are still grossly undervalued in the Guide? Not that I'm complaining too loudly, because I still have quite a few HOM issues left to get. But still, 236 has a beautiful (now THAT'S a classic!!!) Wrightson cover, Ditko pencils and Adams inks and guides for $18?????? I'll gladly pay triple guide for that book!!! Any takers??? I doubt it. And, yes, the #4 has some great Adams' art inside, including several full-page splashes. The #10 has Jim Aparo interior art that's also pretty nice.

i don't wish that they were undervalued, but i think its true. Especially when you leave the already touted earlier books. HOM#236,256,265,290 those are WAAAAAYYYY rediculous! i have been collecting these of and on since 1986. I sold almost everything in 1994 or so, then focused on precode horror and didn't get back into these until 1999 or so. In all that time, barring the 5 year period when i didn't go after them too much, i have NEVER seen a NM #290. I know they are out there, but come on, it shouldn't be that hard for a book from 1981! Even back in the day my best 236 was a VG. I have a VF+, a VF & a VG now because i search everywhere for that book. (There is a VG on ebay right now actually). It shouldn't be that hard. Doug Sulipa said its one of the toughest issues for him to keep in stock. Ghosts #63 & 66 are 2 more examples, they just NEVER turn up for sale. Weird War #68, 93 and some others are all really tough, yet #93 guides at $6 or so. #68 is only where it is for the miller art, but its tough regardless. HOS #151 isn't broken out in guide, yet its Kaluta, Golden, Suydam and impossible to find. I guess this is the time to find them, the silence can't last forever....

Other favorite HOM covers are 214, 217 and 231!!! I also like 261. Does anyone have a HG 265 or 290. That 290 is H-O-T!!! What about a high grade 267? Greggy? Sterling? Shiver? anybody?

Nope...I don't collect that high in the number range....YET! devil.gif Maybe I should ditch my 100 page giant focus and concentrate on DC bronze horror! I'm just lucky to buy most of my 20 cent cover DC horror from one source! cloud9.gif
