Well with out explaining again about my son losing 100 gig of photos that I used for my web design business I'm looking for help.

If anyone has photos that they own. ( meaning you took these photos yourself ) and would like to trade or sell them please contact me. I will pay or I will trade some comics for your photos. I will have all rights to the photos and will ask you to sign a waiver of rights giving me the right to use the photos. Here are the ones I'm looking for mainly but will take anything.

Buildings.( big city scenes, small town scenes, single buildings, tall buildings)

Animals ( I don't need photos of greggys sheep )

People ( professional, at work, at play, clean cut, sporting events)

vehicles ( all kinds, cars, boats, planes)

Technology (computers, phones, DVD, cd, radios)

Weapons(guns, knifes, swords)

Nature ( trees, parks, lakes, ect)

Misc.( anything I forgot to mention)

NO porn is needed. Thanks

I would like to get them on a CD this way as I build a web page I will give credit to the person that gave me the photo ( unless you wish to be anonomous )

Thanks,

Thanks, Rob

I've used some from their royalty free sections before. But I'm just trying to build my library back up with out spending day after day searching all my favorite royalty free web sites. Figured maybe someone with a bunch of photos would like to earn something for them, saving me time. I use to have a web site that would sell a full CD for $10. I can't find that place anymore.

But send me the links to sites like this too. I'll just have my kid sit down and get the photos, this will make up for his mistake.

Thanks. thumbsup2.gif

Oh I forgot to mention that my main gravy train is 3D models and animation. I'm hoping to get an animated series on TV soon. Just waiting for all the copy rights and trade marks to pass. Then I hit the TV stations for the second presentations.

Rock on!

Real wrestling is awesome!

I don't know of too many that actually work in the field of wrestling as a sport,

but I do have some friends that love the Soap Opera style of wrestling that is glamorized on TV

and have gone to wrestling college to work as a "Pro TV Wrestler".

They aren't famous yet - but it is cool that they are following there dream.

Nice to see another in raw field that I work in.

The irony of it all is that most people don't have a clue what designers/illustrators do.

Most think that we dress in black, chill and drink expressos all day.

The fact of it is, this is a hard field to be successful in.

You can be the best on the planet, but if you don't know how to swoon the public towards your great ideas you can be disgusted very easlily.

Some of my favorite work that I have done is where I was free of restrictions and able to creative

good design with out all the red tape that comes from a patron that knows enough to be a thorn in the side of the process. Don't get me wrong, the patron of a venue needs to have their voice, but I was reffering to the ones that indulge on mirco managing a design to death - which inturn turns to undesirable slock!

Oh well sorry to rant...

One of the pieces that I had a blast creating because of great freedom of restrictions was - my Crude catalog (found in my site / under the print category / item#9).

Here I was able to create a design that I though best fit the clothing line for the Genration Y crowd. I came up with concept (an end of the world comic book styled theme set), planned layout, directed the models, took the photoshoot and designed the piece ready to print.

This piece was developed in '99 when a majority of the end of the world themes were in place.

Needless to say I enjoyed the freedom and is a very seldom venture not having to suck-up to the man to survive.

And that is the real irony lies, today's designers are forced to have to please the client's every whim to make it - and with that the craft of good design is basically abolished.

Oh well - as they say in Print Magazine I've shown you my monkey (website portfolio), now show me yours. grin.gif

Yea, I wrestled all through high school and would of wrestled college but a girl got in my way. Shes now ex mrs. syndram.

But I grew up watching a lot of soap opera wrestling as my Grandpa and Dad had friends that wrestled. The Brusier and The Golden Lion use to play in my Dad's poker parties. It was way cool as a kid to see these guys enter your house.

My kids and I still watch the soap opera wrestling today, its a good bonding time for us. I took them to one of the big wrestling shows here once and ran into a couple of my Dad's old friends, they then took my boys back stag and got all kinds of autographs and suveniours. Yes that night I was GOD!

Woo. You're style is so clean, you can eat off it.

Really Nice.

I've always had a shine on for linear styles.

My favorite linear artist helped start the graphic/illustration revolution way back at the turn of the century - Alphonse Mucha (I'm not fit to shine his shoes).

His work was to die for.

Style is great for Illustrators IMHO, I've just tryed to ween myself from really creating a style because people love to label your limits too quickly when you do so.

I've been doing this for 27 years and find myself (quite unintentionally) reinventing myself every 5 to 7 years. I started out doing highly rendered crosshatch with a rapidograph, went to acrylic painting, did super rendered pencil work, painted on the back of line work shot on acetate and then got my mac in 1993. I like what I'm doing now...it's related to my love of comics too. Who the heck knows what it'll look like in 5 years. That's the fun! thumbsup2.gif And thanks for your kind words!

For a cheap place for Royalty Free photos, try http://www.istockphoto.com. They're as low as $.50 per usage (for web resolution) and they accept Paypal which makes it easy to reload the account (with credits)

Not as professional as Getty, Corbis, Comstock, etc... but also not as expensive.

Good luck with rebuilding your photo reference library.

I make small animations with these guys just for the fun of it and to practice different things. My kids love it. I'm working on Proffesor X and Sabertooth right now. I have a friend that wants Vamperila so she's on the board too.
