ON-SITE COMIC PRESSING IN WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO

For the first time ever, Matt Nelson of Classics Incorporated is offering on-site pressing at the Wizard World Chicago con next month! With CGC’s on-site grading at that show, collectors can get their comics pressed and graded in the same weekend. Having a comic pressed and graded can sometimes take weeks or months, which makes this an invaluable opportunity. Wizard Chicago is the only show Classics Incorporated is offering on-site pressing this year, so don’t miss out.

In the tradition of offering our clients the absolute best pressing service in the hobby, we will bring our full operation to Chicago, allowing us to press any comic you submit, regardless of age or condition. This presented a unique logistical challenge to our company when we made the decision to do on-site pressing last summer. Since then, we have been tirelessly restructuring our process to achieve speed without sacrificing the exceptional level of quality our clients expect from us. After two on-site simulations executed at our office during the past three months, we are ready.

SUBMITTING – At Chicago, we begin accepting pressing submissions Wednesday morning, August 10th. Because each pressing will take at least 24 hours to complete, all submissions received by end of show Friday night will stand the best chance of being pressed and CGC graded by Sunday. We will continue to accept submissions Saturday, but there may be certain books that will not finish pressing in time for on-site grading. We will also be accepting submissions for regular pressing throughout the weekend. Any comics we do not finish will be brought back to our office the following week for immediate completion. A 20% discount will be applied to the pressing fee of any comic not finished at the show.

As the orders finish, we will immediately hand them off to CGC for grading, and take care of all the necessary paperwork for you. Once graded, your books can be picked up at CGC’s booth. Your pressing invoice must be fully paid before the books go to CGC. Any grading fees will be billed to you separately by CGC, and payment will be required from them at pick-up.

Wizard is still working on their floor plan, but we will have our booth number to you as soon as we know it.

SCREENING –If you plan to have your books screened prior to on-site pressing, they will be promptly screened in the pressing room, and the results emailed to you, or a printout will be provided to you at our booth. As outlined on our website, pre-screens are faster and will enter the queue immediately after completion. Proscreens must be approved by you before we start pressing, so it’s important you give us your approval as soon as you receive it. Any rejects can be picked up at the Classics Incorporated booth.

NOT ATTENDING? For those who either cannot make Wizard World Chicago, or want to get a head start on submitting, you can mail us your submissions the week prior to the show. We are leaving for the show Monday August 8th, so all mailed submissions must be received by Friday, August 5th. If you request a pro-screen or prescreen, these will be completed at our office and emailed to you (as normal) before we leave for the show Monday. If you are not attending the show, we will pick up your books from CGC after grading and mail them back to you the week we return from the show.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at 972-980-8040, or emailing comics@classicsincorporated.com. We’ve worked very hard this year to make on-site pressing in Chicago a reality and a success. This is a very exciting event for us, and we hope to continue and expand the service in the coming years. We hope to see you in six weeks!

Do you have pricing for SS? or is this your SS pricing?
. From Matt's post, the cgc fees are separate. Therefore, his pricing doesn't include SS fees charged by cgc.

restoman...

I have an Ultimate Spider-Man #1 White cover CGC 9.6, 2 Flaws: a (Common Flaw on this book)1 inch long- 1/16th inch thick print roller indentation on the foot/arm of Spider-Man and 2 very small 1/4 inch long hair line indentations on Spider-Man's leg. Would pressing be able to remove these Flaws and possibly increase the CGC to 9.8? I would include a Picture, but I can not get the camera to pickup the indentations through the CGC case.

Thanks

Those defects can be pressed out. If that is what's keeping the book from 9.8 and they don't break color, then it should upgrade. But I can't commit to that until I can see the book in person.
