Strange error I pulled off the shelf today

It was cut with extra material attached in the corner. It's almost certainly a "qualified" comic and I doubt it's worth anything, but I was still happy to find any old error right on the shelf like that.

It's called a dog ear.

It's from the corner being folded over before the book gets trimmed.

It would be if you submitted it with the paper folded back into the book. Just don't cut off the excess. CGC would call that trimmed
