I'm finally hooking up my scanner again.....but I don't have a twain(?) driver to run it. Can someone help me please....? frown.gif

Go to the scanner manufacturer's Website. They should have the drivers there. (or post your scanner model.)

Most times the drivers needed for a scanner, camera etc..

can be found at the manufacturers website.

The Twain capture should be part of the software program that came with your scanner ?, and or another program that you might already have installed.

Most times with these Twain aquire and capture features , these tend to be very picky.

So check to make sure you have the right driver for your scanner installed .

I do not have a scanner, only digital cameras, but I assume it is the same for each.

As for my cameras, if the twain doesnt find it, or plain doesnt work.

Can you find it another way? After a image is loaded , or scanned, go to the "my computer" icon on desktop, find the name "removable disk" listed with your drives A C D E etc...

select it and follow the path to you images which you can then clik on to open.

I do this with a few cameras I dont have software for, I dont know if scanners will do this.

I hope I did not confuse you more.

And without actually seeing what you have, or programs you have installed , its hard to say exactly what will work., can you list what type of scanner you have, and what programs you use to use with it?

And since I dont own a scaner, perhaps Redhook or others can help more

I did.....

You need to turn off your computer AND your scanner sometimes (a cold boot).

(Sometimes, just unplugging and replugging the USB cable is enough actually. Most scanners these days no longer come with an on-off switch.)

Then turn it back on. If it's a USB scanner, your pc should acquire it.

Download some porn, it'll take your mind off the scanner.

Serenity now.... cloud9.gif

Actually, use the Canon utility to scan and see if that works (or hit one of the buttons on the scanner and see if anything comes up or if your system is seeing the USB scanner.) (Also, try switching to another USB port.)

If it was being recognized, it'd also be under CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, Hardware, Device Manager, Imaging Devices.

Are you able to hook up other devices to that USB port?

(Also, you're not on Windows 95 or NT 4.0 are you?)

The key is to isolate the problem.

1) the scanner itself

2) the USB interface

3) the software program (Photostudio)

(Or give up, install VNC and let someone take a look at your system remotely.)
