How long does this take!

 

We have 30 modern comic books that have been sitting in verified mode for almost 3 months, now they have been sitting in "schedule for grading" for the past 2 weeks. I would eventuall like to get these books back by sometime next Summer...

I could not agree more. Have had only 6 books there since June 11. Hey CGC hire more people or lower your cost.

Mine have been there since 6/29 and just got graded today.

When it says scheduled for grading, that actually means they have preliminary grades. You can call and get the grades.

7 in economy since June 3rd but I feel ya brother. It's agonizing.

So looking at my order today, they have reverted back to "scheduled for grading" and the grades are gone.

I have had this happen on one or two single books but never on the whole order ? In my case, after the grades were assigned and the books sent to encapsulation, it was decided that because of an overhang the books could not be safely encapsulated.

They are way behind and yes it's quite frustrating and makes me not want to send in any more. I have quite few in their system with the dreaded "Verified" status for well over a month or so... Ugh.

Well, just checked the status on mine and now the books are shipped/safe and the grades listed.

It does drive you crazy doesn't it..... I know they get behind during the convention season but I just don't get why they don't hire some pt or temp help??

I'd say it probably has something to do with the time it takes to train someone and the quality of their work, whether it be too stringent or not enough. It would be nice to see them hire on maybe one or two people that do some other job within CGC 4 or 5 months of the year and then could be "repurposed" for convention season. That's totally a management call and what that other job the people would do....who knows. I'm sure someone near the top is looking at options.

You may want to call and check on yours. The last update (which is almost 2 weeks old now) has them up to May 8th on Economy.

Just called and they're up to mid-May on Economy. Mind were submitted 6/29, so I have a while to wait too. Agonizing isn't a strong enough term.

My 5/18 economy batch must be getting close...

My July 14th economy batch is going to be ready before Christmas.

I just called on a 5/21 economy sub and they are up to the 16th/17th of May for economy. So I should finally have a grade on my book early next week!

It's not like you can walk down to AccounTemps or Manpower and get experienced reliable comic graders.
