Do yourself a favor and pick up some of the floppy reprints or one of the archives. You'll be hooked for life. If you liked the TV show, many, if not all, episodes were lifted straight from the comics.

Seriously, you are missing out big-time. Buy at least some of the archives. I also started collecting because of the HBO series - glad it turned me onto these gems!
