Black Widow movie?!?

15 posts in this topic

Are you guys seriously upset that Marvel is turning its characters into movie franchises? Isn't this a good way to get people more interested in comics? Why complain? Maybe it'll even be GOOD?????? 893crossfingers-thumb.gif It isn't like Black Widow is a way out there character who people will be hard pressed to relate to. She's a female superspy. A female James Bond. This movie could wind up being a lot of fun.

I don't know it just seems that all companies are jumping on the marvel movie

bandwagon and I just don't want it to break.

If it is a quality movie, then I'm up for it. But I would seriously doubt that this would

be any more of an effort than CatWoman where the cheesiest mask I've ever seen is

being worn by an osar winning actress. popcorn.gif

...you must all be living the "alternative" (read as gay) lifestyle. Because you know this means a hot red head in a skin tight black outfit. Who cares about the comic, movie, plot etc..

disclaimer - not that there's anything wrong with being gay and this post is not meant to disrespect any individuals in any way who are.

The only way that these movies will hurt Marvel is if the Marvel movies themselves suck. If they put out a bunch of Daredevils and Hulks instead of giving people good, exciting movies, then they are done and it won't matter what anyone else does. But if Lion's Gate Films can deliver good, entertaining, inexpensive movies like Punisher, people will keep going to these movies and Marvel will make money hand over fist.

P.S. Catwoman is lame. flowerred.gif

Yeah. Me too. I have the 1978 and 1995 video releases (they had different covers!) as well as a bootleg DVD.

I know. I'm crazy.

The TV Dr. Strange movie was all right except for the costume he wears at the very very end, which I guess would have been the superhero suit Peter Hooten would have worn every episode if it was picked up as a series. It was baby blue with a big star chest logo that made him look like a gay Doug Henning. Other than that, the show wasn't terrible for the 70's. OK, it was bad. In fact, it sucked. Hopefully these new Marvel movies will take advantage of good special effects and good scripts so the next time Doc hits the screen it won't be so awful.

A bit of trivia... the woman who played Clea, Anne-Marie Martin, would later marry and divorce author Michael Crichton.

27_laughing.gif, I still haven't actually watched it. It was an impulse purchase on ebay when I wanted to see what Marvel had done with his characters previously in terms of TV and movie releases. I will have to check it out one of these days!
