Filter bought my coverless copy for more than half that.

You might have a hard time finding a 100% complete copy that's 1.5 or better for less than $700 now.

For my $500, I want something in the Good to Very Good range.

I've got one that's been stomped on, folded in half, carried in the back pocket of a very tight set of jeans for 3 days, has some kinda unknown chemical stain (green) on 1/2 the front cover, very rusty staples (actually I think the bottom one has already rusted through), the center-fold might be missing and the back cover looks exactly the same as the back cover of an FF #6.

 

A solid copy.

Last CGC 4.5 I know of went for $2770. If you want a good copy, I'd think over a grand.

The rusty staple and fake back cover kill it otherwise I'd offer a nicer price.

You'll prob pay in the neighborhood of $1,500, give or take a few hundred. A very nice 3.0 copy of FF 1 sold for $1,300 on Heritage (I think not considering added juice) some time ago.

Look for a Golden Records Reprint instead... I was able to get one in NM- for under $100 several years back. It looks almost identical to the real #1, except it's missing the price....
