Let's build the essential 1980s comic reading list

tmnt 1-4

This makes for a cool collection as they're all magazine-sized with unique color schemes. However, this is a reading list and issue 4 ends on a cliffhanger. Bare minimum, you need to get to issue #7 to finish the arc. My 2c

How about Spectacular Spider-Man 106-110, the Sin Eater issues?

Don't forget Kraven's last Hunt, goes through all 3 Spidey titles.

Jay

This was what I was going to post, so I'll just plus one it.

Go all the way to issue 16 for a nice "end" in continuity.

Nexus, the entire run.

Groo, the entire run.

Ambush Bug, all minis included.

JLA/JLE, all Giffen issues.

Pressbutton and Eraser, all issues.

Cerebus, High Society and Church and State I and II.

The aforementioned TMNT books, but I would go all the way through volume I.

Power Pack, entire run.

Badger, 1-halfway throughish.

Lone Wolf and Cub, by First Comics, 1-45 (entire run).

that's enough for now.

I need your help. I'd like to build a great 1980s comic reading list and am looking for any and all suggestions.

I started a thread like this over in the bronze forum and it's already gotten great responses. Let's try it here for 1980s comics. I decided not to use the term "copper" because no one can seem to agree when it began and when it ended. It's okay if there is some bleedover into 1979 and 1990.

What would you choose? There's some obvious choices like V for Vendetta, Miller Daredevil, Watchman, and Dark Knight just to name a small few but maybe there's some other stuff that you feel has flown under the radar and is underrated.

I will manage the list.

Please be specific with issue numbers and have some fun with it. All genres and all publishers welcomed.

Elfquest (Epic) 1st series - great storytelling!!
Epic was a reprint of the first series :gossip:

I much prefer the black and white magazines, but the Epic run did have added content

I also think it's a must read. Probably my favorite series.
