Green Lantern - story ok, but the art was sub-par

if you are referring to the manhke/alamy GL then :screwy:

:sorry:

I will call Doug and Christian today and see if they can put in more time to make it look nicer.

I read GL thought the art was great, some of the very best of the new 52, but the story left me bored much like the rest of the new 52. It was one of the only books that looked like a pro with a fully developed personal style drew it.

I was reading what Bill said, and I was just cracking on him for fun with my post. It is a talking heads book. Not a lot of action, but GL tends to run that way. A couple of issues with plot development then a melee lol

Animal Man was my absolute favorite, but Batman was right up there. Beautful art and Scott Snyder has moved up with Jeff Lemire as 2 of my favorite writers.

Manhke's either lost his fastball, or that was just a sub par issue of his. Maybe its the inking. I loved his stuff on Mask, Major Bummer and most of the other GL's I've read that he has done. I thought this was weak.

I got Aquaman and Animal Man on whim, downloaded on my Droid. Animal Man wasn't bad, but I thought Aquaman was great. Well paced, humorous and the optimal level of self-awareness.

I dropped out of moderns a couple years ago, so I think I'm their perfect target audience.

update: picked up Animal Man & Swamp Thing; i'll keep both on my pull list

Big surprise, these are new Vertigo titles for all intents and purposes :baiting:

lol i actually didn't care for Swamp Thing but will give it a few months (it'll probably only last 12 issues anyway)

Ok so when I heard about the new 52 I was ticked... already read sooo many marvel books and now all these new DC's ughh. I was hoping they would stink so I could justify NOT buying them.

No dice. I don't think I have read one I didn't like in some fashion. I LOVE the new Aquaman, Red Hood, Batman, JLA, GL books and even the Sgt Rock book was cool. Animal Man wasn't really for me but I respect those who dig it and don't regret buying it at all. I was very surprised by Demon Knight and Hawkman.
