ComicLink is very excited to announce Fantastic Four #12 CGC 9.6 as the top highlight in its October Focused Auction. This example of Fantastic Four #12 is the finest, by far, ever offered for this issue anywhere. The single highest graded by CGC, this unbelievable, upper Near Mint CGC 9.6 is one of the finest early Silver Age Marvels ComicLink has had the opportunity to offer.

Fantastic Four #12 is the most highly demanded early Fantastic Four after #1. Fantastic Four #12 is also one of the most significant Marvel comics of the Silver Age. That incredible, classic cover as well as the fact that it is the first meeting between the Fantastic Four and the Incredible Hulk make it a must have for serious Marvel collectors. The classic battles between the Fantastic Four and the Hulk throughout the Silver Age are among the most beloved stories of the era and it all started with this issue.

Crossover appearances by Marvel characters from different titles became an extremely popular and successful motif for Marvel throughout the 1960s and was one of the factors that made the Marvel Universe seem so real and complete. With a cover date of 3/63, Fantastic Four #12 hit the stands the same month as Amazing Spider-Man #1 and is tied for the very first time the FF encounter another new Silver Age Marvel hero. The 3/63 cover date of this issue is also important as it means that this issue is tied with Incredible Hulk #6 as the 6th ever appearance of the Hulk, dating this as not only the Hulk’s 1st ever crossover from his own title, but a very early appearance of the Green Goliath as well.

Key Silver Age Marvels in top grade are generally locked tightly away in private collections. These unique items are the pride and joy of the most advanced collectors and it is incredibly unusual for one to come available in the public market. Generally trading hands in private deals, most collectors would never have a chance to see a single highest graded Marvel of this calibre, let alone the have the opportunity to bid on one at public auction.

With such significance and rarity, this is a truly special opportunity for the advanced Marvel collector and one of the most exciting items offered by ComicLink this year. Collectors for early Fantastic Four issues in top grade are notoriously competitive and early Silver Age Marvel keys in top grade continue to exceed expectations. That said this sure to be one of the most closely watched offerings in this or any other ComicLink auction.

ComicLink is currently accepting consignments of high quality comic books and Comic Art for its November Featured Auction and other upcoming events.
