Yeah I am surprised it took this long.

 

The market doesn't recognize them very often no matter how hard some seem to want them too.

Oh, he's right, make no bones about it.

 

Who knows, maybe collectors will come around to this way of thinking. (shrug) I'd love to sell my two copies of Agents 6 for WD 1 money. But, so far, these things aren't collected as first appearances by the majority of collectors, including me.

In this particular case it's also not the first appearance of the character, just the first time the character uses the name. Also not the first character to use the name. It's funny how many different issues can be pointed to as keys in the case of Carol Danvers.

Nice call, jt... I've been suggesting Hughes stuff is heating up for about a year now... Last time I said that here, I got a few disbelieving face palms. So let me agree with you before the naysayers appear...

 

In most comic shops, the Hughes covers (like on his Wonder Woman run) have all been cherry picked, and Hughes variants are heating up. Some, like Supergirl 23 have already broken away, but there's some that I think are still good bets, like the Justice League of America 6 or Teen Titans 88 variants.
