I thought I'd post this for anyone looking for this rarity

Whatever happened to the board member who initially came onto the boards going on and on about O. Oldbuck before switching his focus to GA? Was it Showcase4 or somebody like that?

Haven't seem him or whoever it was on the boards for quite awhile now! (shrug)

Yup it was Steve. I could be wrong [and I apologize in advance if I am] but I believe he was a mortgage broker and I think when the credit crisis hit and the economy went in the toilet he started to unload his books. Hasn't really been on the boards for a few years now.

I believe Steve? had 4 copies at one time?

There's nothing like corralling all the supply of something that has no demand.

You have to give him an A for effort in trying to create a demand.

He did stick his head in on a few occasions through the years but more or less I think you're right.

But such activity did lead to a moderately entertaining thread...

Moderately? :sorry::tonofbricks:

I'm only on page 30 of that thread but it's interesting and entertaining. Learning a lot about platinum age comics/books.

There's nothing like corralling all the supply of something BEYOND TOP DOLLAR that has no demand.

Corrected that for you...

At least one of them was purchased for $20,000 from Beerbohm, and later sold for $10,000. Maybe Steve was drunk when he originally purchased it lol
