Perhaps the lamest Image cover ever, by the lamest Image "artist" ever.

893naughty-thumb.gif When he worked for Marvel, he is pretty good. I personally like Valentino early art, so dont hate the "Man", hate the Company that dragged him under.

What Valentino art was good? It all looked the same. The only good thing about Valentino was that he was the only guy at Image who could get a book out on time (although Spawn was a close second, with everyone else falling way, way behind).

frown.gif I like (and have an awsome D/P Splash) his art from Guardians Of The Galaxy. Alright, maybe he wasnt that good blush.gif, but he sure was alot better than Alex Maleev mad.gif, those DD covers 893censored-thumb.gif

any ASM cover by erik larsen is awful.

I think that is a bit harsh. Larsen is not an awful artist, but he did make the terrible mistake on ASM of trying to ape McFarlane (not a great artist either IMHO) and failing miserably.

Valentino was one of the worst artists ever. I remember being at a convention were he was reviewing "would be artists"... then proceeding to rip on every artist that submitted to him. It was one of the pathetic displays I'd ever seen at a con. Especialy when most of the artists under review were better than him. tongue.gif

Nope the quotes were written like that on purpose. It fits the concept of the art. It's from Hamlet when he holds of Yorick's skull and says, "Alas poor Yorick, I knew him well." Other than Venom looking slightly funky which a lot of artists have drawn him even worse I would probably add A LOT more books before I'd put that one up.

I know these things are just our opinions, but my opinion is that Maleev is a million times the artist that Valentino ever was.

You've gotta be kidding me. His head and ESPECIALLY his jaw line are so stupid looking that I can hardly stand it. The lame Shakespeare reference does not help this pig. It is horrible.

Sorry but I have seen Venoms face distorted so many times before that look stupid that it doesn't even bother me. It seems like it has become part of his character.

I understand the reference to the quote and know the play that it came from....I just thought it was dumb that they had VENOM saying it! makepoint.gif

I don't care what anyone says, NOTHING compares with this one for pure putridity:

Pick your poison, but be warned, the purtidity factor on these covers is off the charts:

Link 1

Link 2

Ok two things here:

1. Why with only the 2nd book did I actually have to log into Heritage? They're both similar porn-wise!

2. Can you imagine if DC had published this, AND Ian Levine was missing these 2 to complete the run? I can see it now...Only 8 books to go! Just missing "C YA Next Tuesday #1"!

Alan Milgrom = worst artist EVER! 893frustrated.gif

I used to think so until I read some of Valentino's stuff. Milgrom was an ok penciller if he had a decent inker to go over his stuff. But when he inked his own stuff, it was B-A-D. I hated his run on Spectacular Spider-Man in the 80s.
