The theatrical (and video) version of SUPERMAN II is missing about 17 minutes worth of footage that has only been seen in TV broadcasts.

 

For example, Zod here using a machine gun: s2ext3.jpg

 

 

Anyway, in the full-length version, it shows the arctic police arresting Zod & Co. So rest assured that Supes didn't kill them.

 

 

BTW, my favorite exchange from the deleted scenes:

 

Lex Luthor: What I am bargaining with is something you do not have - the son of Jor-El.

General Zod: ...the son of Jor-El?

Lex Luthor: I said that, didn't I?

General Zod: Jor-El? Our jailer?

Lex Luthor: [sarcastically] No, Jor-El the baseball player! Yes, Jor-El your jailer.
