12 posts in this topic

angelo dundee has passed. he was 90 years old.

the greatest boxing trainer of all time. he worked with ali in all but two of his fights. he was sugar ray leonards trainer. trained the great carmen basilio and was even in the corner with big george when he regained the heavy weight title in his forties by knocking out michael moorer.

he was one of the smartest and kindest men i have ever met. i had the pleasure of seeing him and speaking with him many times at the gym in tampa and at the boxing hall of fame in canastota ny.

a true legend and a sports icon.

today is a very sad day.

Three more minutes and you're the champ of the world!

RIP :(

An amazing fight. Leonard beats Hagler after a 5 year layoff and no tune up fight.

Watched it on closed circuit. Such great drama in that fight.

"You're blowing it, Son!"
