vane
Finally got a 9.8 on this book. My All-Star Squadron books were allot easier to find in 9.8's than these DC digests. Inside back cover on the digest (not all) will put some type of story behind the scenes why they choose these stories for this issue. This editorial comments is about of the farewell to the digest series. Edited February 4, 2013 by vane MAY1979
vane
Corrected label of Best of DC #34 (Newsstand Edition)!!! A Little bit of history... Source: http://www.comics.org/issue/1037226/ Mislabeled #497 on cover. From Bob Rozakis, DC production manager at the time: "The price box was picked up from the ADVENTURE COMICS DIGEST. As I recall, we told the printer to strip in the price from ADVENTURE and they took the entire box." (via e-mail, January 1, 2011.) I already have the Best of DC #34 Direct Edition with the mislabeled. And I never knew there was a corrected version of this book. 5-6 months ago I bought a huge lot of DC digests on ebay, and while sorting them through I saw the cover (Best of DC #34) and looking closely I notice it had the correct labeled on it. I emailed Dough Sulipa about the corrected labeled on Best of DC #34 and he never noticed it either and he said he was going to check. His reply was... Doug: "#34(Corrected editions with #34 on cover exist on American Newsstand copies only) = ONE in stock #34(States #497 on cover; Canadian Newsstand copies) = ONE in stock #34(States #497 on cover; DIRECT Edition copies) = 10 copies in stock" I then asked him... vane: "Is the " BEST OF DC Comics Digest #34(Corrected editions with #34 on cover" has a lower print run?" His reply... Doug: "Most copies on the Market are DIRECT editions. Most DIRECT editions were saved by Collectors; USA Newsstand editions were sold to the general public & have a much smaller Survival Rate Because the Corrected edtion only exists in the USA Newsstand edition, it is approx 5-10 Times Scarcer;" I did asked him if he can make a note on the OSPG and he said he will try. So it turns out the Newsstand Edition is much scarcer than the Direct Edition. I called CGC and asked them to make a notation on the CGC labeled and on the census. I'm happy I own both copies in 9.8's. Newsstand Edition: Direct Edition: Edited March 8, 2014 by vane

Hope you get a nice grade. Would love to see what Greggy has. Dover, There's a Best of DC #18 9.6 CGC signed by George Perez and Neal Adams. But I don't think the cover is done by Neal. vane
Here's another 9.8 on the census. I had to go through allot of digests books to find a 9.8 candidate. Like I said before...these books are plague with printing defects. Edited December 28, 2013 by vane
vane
Any Superboy fans out there? Kind of like how the artist showed the heroes young & old on each side of each other. Oh...another 9.8 on the census.
vane
Here's my new pride and joy. Tarzan Digest #1!! Never mind it's...The only 9.8 on the census and the next step closer is a 9.4. Never mind it's...DC's first digest book. Never mind it's...Over 40 years old. Never mind it's... A whopping 160 pages. There's no other DC digest has that many pages. Well...never mind. The front and back cover are the same except the back cover does not have the 50 cent price tag and Joe Kubert signature.
