QUESTION ABOUT GRADING

30 posts in this topic

... to see why they came in so low.

According to some of your past posts, your books are well read and well traveled. Over the years, I've seen scores of smaller original owner GA collections with the same general history as yours, and most of the books therein were in the GD/VG to VG/FN range. I think when all is said and done, you'll find that you have a VG-ish collection that'll be a nice source of retirement funds or a very generous gift for your children and/or grandchildren.

And definitely something to be proud of! (thumbs u

Thank you...I agree with everything you say, but I would still

like to see why my 3 books were graded the way they were

and not have to pay extra to find out.

I called CGC about the grades of my three books and was told to

call back when I received the books. Now I read that there is a $15

fee per book for trying to find out why my books came in at a low

grade...is this true?

mm

Never heard about this . . . . hm

If it's true, apparently there's a flaw in the system. :tonofbricks:

Received from CGC today..."Grading notes have gone online for a fee

based upon a three tiered fee scheme and are no longer available via

phone call.".

I don't really think I should have to pay to get some idea why my books

received the marks they did.

Follow-up from CGC:

"When you submit comics to CGC you are paying for our

opinion, of the final condition of the comic, not the reason

for us coming to that determination.".

All I wanted to know was...why three GA books, submitted at the

same time received similar grades!

I understand your point. But, as far as CGC is concerned, that is like calling Coca-Cola and asking for the formula because you "want to know why it tastes so good."
