Best way to ship to the UK

Hi. I have a high dollar book (over $1k) that I need to ship to from NY to the United Kingdom. Any suggestions on the best way to ship this book...USPS priority, USPS Express, Fedex, etc...I'm looking for the best method to ship this with insurance.

 

I'd love to hear some of your opinions from those who have had experience shipping international

You've probably read this in another thread but it's worth repeating, do not list it on the form as the title of the comic or it's likely to be subjected to tax that it shouldn't have. Instead list it as printed matter, printed papers or old comic book and it should not then be mistaken for a taxable product.
