totally newb question about sdcc 2013

Tickets sell out as soon as they are released. I believe attendees from the year before get first rights to the next year. Some dealers will give or sell dealer passes in return for help setting up or tearing down or for part-time help through the show. They may also give dealer passes to good customers in the expectation that they will buy from the dealer. Dealer passes by the way, are far superior to general admission passes, allowing you to avoid lineups and get in before the doors open to the public.

Dealers are generally very careful who they share their passes with.

It isn't impossible. I have seen threads started by dealers looking to trade SDCC passes for help setting up or manning their booths.

Of course people they know and trust would get consideration before a stranger so if you have a nearby comic con they setup at it couldn't hurt to introduce yourself.
