I have a great looking Cap 100 from the front. The problem arises when you flip it over and see the huge water stain across the top of the back. You can also see the outline very faintly on the back page and even less so on the next page to the last before it disappears. I'm not sure how to grade down for the water stain so I really appreciate your opinions. Thanks.

Love the front. I'm too new to this to offer a decent idea on how much the water stain on the back affects. Stab in the dark, i'd say 4.5?

I agree with 7.0 without the staining. In this condition though, no better than 5.0

4.0 -- Even small water stains can hammer a book, and that one is huge buddy. Good looking book regardless.

Water Stains have to be the single most damaging feature a book can have. I've seen crisp books with water damage get absolutely hammered.

 

I'd hope for a 5.0.

4.0/4.5 and you cant go wrong. The stain is a serious defect. I once had a WD 1 sold to me as VF+, but seller missed back water stain so I sold it as a VG+ and felt like buyer got honest assessment from me.
