Bedlam

40 for an NYCC bedlam is a good dal still for a NM to NM + copy.. the NYCC is probably gonna be worth the most out of most of the variants..

Whats the big fuss..

I'd pay $20 but that's me

The RRP will be the most valuable if the series takes off. I've had 10 in my hands so far and the book is too big for the stock used. 9.6 is the highest I've seen.

"Also...

i think a lot of people on this board specifically expect EVERY book to be "worth money"

I dont think people necessarily expect it, but lots certainly HOPE it :). The modern section of the CGC forum, to my eyes anyway, is the leading edge of the secondary market.

Not everyone here is looking to flip books, but everyone looking to flip books, is here (silent watchers, or posters).

I have a stack of the NYC variants, and none of this bothers me in the slightest. I loved the first issue, and I am much more concerned about whether or not the story holds up going forward, then whether or not there are an extra 500 copies of the NYC variant. They were selling stacks of 25 copies at $5 each on preview night. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised that the run is higher than 500 when (a) they weren't limiting purchases to one or two copies per person, and (b) they weren't charging ridiculously inflated prices due to print run (as, for example, is common practice for Zenescope on all of their soft-core porn variants).

some because they wanted to get in on the ground floor of a series they thought was going to take off...

it hasnt even launched yet, lol. little early to declare it wont take off

WTF? I didn't say it wasn't going to take off. I used the past tense because people bought the books in the past.

The way you wrote it, past tense on all of it not just the purchase, seemed to imply it was a thought no longer held. My bad for misunderstanding.

The reason that it's important that it's unlawful is because if it's not unlawful, what stops a comic company from reprinting AF 15 or other Golden, Silver, Bronze age keys. I've specifically stated that it's not a case that I would pursue (and I doubt other attorneys would pursue but I can't speak for them), but it's important that a publisher of collectible items should not be able to go back and print more copies like Opee Che premiere did with the Hockey cards I referenced above. Anyway, I'm done talking about all this. I loved the first issue and I imagine that others are going to love it too.

I never said it was a case I would bring just that it was a case. Read my prior posts again.

Don't think I need to, since I never said that you did say it was a case you would bring. We were talking about whether there is a case at all or not. I don't think there is, you do, end of story.

No worries. I actually have no opinion on its future success as I haven't bought it, haven't read it (other than the preview) and don't have any plans to!

My opinion...( based on factoids, Jacktoids )

There were supposed to be 500 Bedlam #1's...

"Employee X" at Image seeing the pre demand wisely increased print run to one thousand.

One thousand. period.

To cover his in case of NOT selling out at NYCC he listed with Diamond.

Smart.

There will be minimal ( if any ) shipping via Diamond.

Also...

people on this board ALREADY have an unrealistic expectation of how Bedlam is to preform on the secondary market.

It AIN'T out yet.

Let it get reviewed.

Let it develop a fan base.

Let it compete on DM shelves.

Let it sell through.

Lets revisit Bedlam's market prices in 7 months.

Once again Larry hits the nail on the head with 100% accuracy.

You should open a store :hi:

Nico - I try to be cordial with you as much as I can Because you get a lot of flack on these boards, and while some of it may be merited, I always side with the bully-ee, not bulliers. However you make it really difficult when you constantly bring up lawsuit talk.

We all know you're a lawyer, so you don't have to bring up potential lawsuit and fraud talk every single time you are unhappy about something. You do that a lot. You also make it very clear that collecting comic books for you, the money come first, and the enjoyment of collecting comes second (this is just how it comes off, this very well is untrue, but again, its how you make it look and I'd bet everyone else agrees) this sours my experience being here seeing you start ranting and raving about suing and fraud whenever you think you're losing money on something just takes my smile away.

Guess what, they upped the print count, and there's nothing you can do about it other than get mad. Its not illegal. You can't sue them. Just vent for a moment like others do without bringing out the big guns litigation stuff, its tired.

I'm still keeping you off my ignore list though cause I do enjoy me some Nico wisdom :preach::foryou:

I'm a lawyer too and I know of no law that would prohibit a copyright holder from going back and printing additional copies of books for which they hold the copyright. In fact, if you had the equipment, you could print up comics that are in the public domain all you want. Marvel never said that AF 15 was limited to x number of copies, so that would be different than the Bedlam situation. Either way, I think talk of a lawsuit is ridiculous.
