Detective Comics #1 (2011)

Hey guys,

 

I was looking on the net tonight to buy a few of the New 52 #1s that I haven't bought yet and I can't seem to touch Detective Comics #1 for under $30-$40. All the other #1s I bought are still hovering around the cover price, maybe max $10.

 

Any idea why has this one shot up so much? Or has it been this high? It's one of the ones I missed out on back on relaunch and haven't gotten around to picking up yet.

Probably because of all the hype concerning what happened in the book, and that the story is finally going to continue in another month or so....I'm not saying what happened in case you haven't read it.

There's been some serious hoarding of this book since day one. I didn't bother with it and just waited for the hardcover collected edition.

Did Detective #27 get released yet? Any major developments like the re-introduction of Bat-mite? Time to horde.

It continues in Batman after the issue #0 in sept, not Detective Comics.

I suspect it's because joker's on the cover and looks sexy in a slab. I didn't think the story was all that great.

It wasn't, but the fall out could be huge. Especially because they made us wait so long.
