Im just doing the numbers for sending in 10 modern comics.

If I send them in myself. Get 4 free submissions (save for silver age) and 10% discount.

So $273 shipped at 20% discount vs $301 shipped plus $125 initial cost.

Found it I think...unless you are sending it to get pressed you are at 10% no matter what. Pressers get 20%...

Dealers get 20%. Greedy pressers would never extend the offer of 20%.

Dealers receive 20% for books that they submit under their dealer number. If you use the online link for a dealer, you are given your own number that is associated with that dealer, but you only get 10% off. If you want 20% off, you need to find a dealer who will submit books on your behalf and not charge you anything for it other than what CGC charges them (good luck with that).

Thanks for clearing that up!

No, I gave the books to Matt and Marie at the NYCC.

I am assuming you also had these worked on. I have always offered the full 20% off on grading fees if you had me work on the books.

A few books that were not pressed did receive the discount but things basically netted out the way you described:

3 of the pressed books had grading paid for by CGC coupons

3 books that were pressed were not CGC graded

Of the 36 books that received the 20% discount there were about 5 (not sure of exact number) that were not pressed because Matt did not think that they would benefit from pressing.
