Resto question - Spine Roll

How does one fix a nasty spine roll without taking the book apart?

 

Any homegrown techniques? I would imagine pros take the book apart.

 

I did a search but came up empty.

 

I tried Wonder Bread, but it didn't work.....just kidding.

Three easy steps:

 

1) Open the book up

2) Flatten with a skillet or iron

3) Fold back to where the pages used to line up

 

Use waffle iron to seal the process. Add syrup to taste - it gives it a nice glazed look.
