PGM X-MEN #7 & #8

Hey guys, need your help on the grade for these 2 books.

 

#8 how much grade pts deducted because of this dust shadow

 

#7 1/2 inch tear on the back cover, it is not connected to the spine, more like "you take a cutter and cut 1/2 inch on the back cover", did not go through any other pages, and there are little wings drawing on the X of "the X-men" title.

scans are a tad too small for me. The wing on #7 is actually a production error left over from #3 on the logo....so not something that was drawn on...every #7 has that (thumbs u as far as I can tell.

That dust shadow is pretty massive but as it is not structural cgc seem to be rather lenient on them considering how ugly they are IMO. No#8 5.0 no#7 4.5

thanks for your help guys. Didn't expect that the dusty shadow is affected the grade that much more than the tear on any book. Without the dusty shadow, could #8 get a 6.0 or 6.5 (1.0 grade increase?)

I dunno I'd give a 6.0 to X-men 8 ...

but maybe I'm just wearing my rose colored goggles again....

Without the shadow I would have given #8 a 6.0; but I'm still trying to learn this whole grading thing.

More or less I agree. Yes, the #8 could have been more, but it also depends on spine creases (which in scans are often barely visible: add photos, guys, add photos!).
