Female Writers and Artists?

I know there are a few Lady Collectors out there, I was just wondering if there are or have ever been any Woman Artists or Writers, or are Comic books solely a testosterone driven industry. Hard to believe this is the case all things considered in todays world.

Pia Guerra had a long successful run as the artist on Y: The Last Man

Gail Simone has had amazing runs on Deadpool, Birds of Prey, Secret 6, etc

Recently there was a kickstarter project called Womanthology that raised over 100k helmed by Renae De Liz with work by Anne Nocinti, Fiona Staples

you dont have to look very hard to find great female tallent both in the writing and art departments.... much less in editorial. Yes its a male dominated industry, but there are a number of successful female creators, who write/draw all kinds of books....

here's another one that gets unnoticed since she's not on the "tallent" side of things.

Diana Schutz's tenure is impressive> Editor in Chief at Comico when it was churning out Wagner's Grendel & Mage. Moved over to Dark Horse in 1990 and helped move it its current position as a leading second tier Publisher (behind Marvel/DC, and alongside Image). She edited Sin City, Yusagi Yojimbo, Croncrete, etc

In fact she came up with the Maverick line which was the creator owned branch of Dark Horse, created to avoid the talent drains that were affecting Marvel and DC in the 90s, as a result Dark Horse didnt experience the same losses in talents that the big 2 did in the 90s, and still have relationships with Miller, Sam Keith and other creators who surely would have gone solo and left DH with very little talent cache ...

Just look at "Y" - Guerras work is outstanding.

That shouldn't even need to be googled.

another great female front office talent; Karen Berger. Creator of the Vertigo line at DC which led to a ton of successful titles that weren't "Capes" books, and allowed DC to keep many of its best writers during the 2000s (Gaiman, Ellis, MIlligan, Morrison, etc) when "creator owned" was having a 90s-esque revival thanks to movie development deals. All of it was started by Karen.
