ThoseBackPages
One of my local stores stated this was a mini? Any truth to that or is this ongoing? Nope, ongoing. Was just developing plans for a character who will appear in the second arc last night. -e.s. Wushugushu
Yeah the action is just a bonus for me. Not enough corporate espionage type stories around and this has been great for me. That is why Secret was so good until it fell off the face of the earth. I was going to mention that but I figured it was known.. Of all the titles from 2012 before Nowhere Men, I was the most excited for Secret to get going and I thought the series was going to be amazing after the ending in #2.. e.s.
Oh, hey -- I noticed something else on here I wanted to address. A few people said that Peter Panzerfaust has the "first appearance" of Nowhere Men due to the preview that ran in one of the earlier issues, but for anyone actually interested in tracking that sort of thing, that's not entirely correct. There's a book Image published in 2010 called Image Comics 2010 San Diego Comic-Con Yearbook 2010 that is a collection of all-new pieces by everyone in the Image stable at the time. The cover is a unique Walking Dead illustration by Charlie Adlard, plus art by James Stokoe, Ben Templesmith, Joe Linsner, the Luna Brothers, Ian Churchill, Tommy Lee Edwards, Riley Rossmo Mike Allred... ...and the first Nowhere Men pin-up by Nate Bellegarde, featuring Karen in a "Science is the new rock 'n' roll" t-shirt. That came out in July 2010, so well before the Peter Panzerfaust issue. We made them available for order to stores post-SDCC, so there may still be some out there for anyone interested. -e.s. e.s.
Any "Heat" at all about how one of the main characters looks like, shares the same birthdate as, and whos parents have the same first names as a certain member of The Beatles? None whatsoever. His name isn't John Lennon, and and his mother's name isn't Julia Lennon. It's Julia Strange. He has a daughter named Monica Strange. Beyond some superficial details, he really has nothing in common with John Lennon. We'll see less and less of the young version of the character, and as I've noted in a few interview, the current version was inspired by the actor John Hurt. The birth date stuff was basically an Easter egg for the people who would get it, one of many in the book, but sharing the same birthdate is just a silly, throwaway thing. I have the same birth date as David Bowie, Elvis Presley and Stephen Hawking, after all. For the most part, someone's birth date is just about the single least relevant thing about him or her, and in this case, it has absolutely zero bearing on the character or who Emerson Strange is or how he behaves. It's just a bit of fun. I was tempted, incidentally, give him brothers named Adam and Stephen... -e.s.
