Why not New Orleans? Hell they drink in the show and from what I see there is no last call.

Which raises an interesting point--why hasn`t Las Vegas become the host of the mother of all cons?

Get a good number of national dealers to show up to a Vegas show, and I'll be happy to make the 4-5 hour drive, but it never seems to happen.

To think that less than a decade ago there was no major NY show, at least one that was comparable to the current one. Not surprised by its success...

I remember a couple good sized ones back in the mid-90s. Don't know how they would stack up in a comparison with today's NY show, but I remember them being really good.

Good point... I haven't been to Vegas, but I would think there is nowhere else set up to do a huge convention as well as Vegas.

The comic nerds will spend all their $$$ on strip clubs and escorts. No money left over for con.

According to Mark Evanier (who probably knows more about comic conventions than most people will learn in a lifetime) there are two reasons why SDCC will never move to Vegas and why there will never be a successful big Con in Vegas, in general:

1. Too many distractions.

2. The weather.

To tell the truth, I do not think I would travel for a Comic Book show. If there was no such thing as a NYCC I would not be at a CC.

Atlantic City New Jersey could be a good place to have a Con.

Boardwalk Convention Hall....

Heh - love that place... I've seen a few shows down there. Most notably I have walked the Casino floor dressed in flip flops, a grass skirt and a Hawaiian shirt when Jimmy Buffett played down there. If the people in the Tropicana could deal with the nonsense created my my friends and I then they can probably deal with one of you dressed as Ms Marvel or Deadpool running amok in the fountain.

I can't believe tickets for the show are completely sold out? Man the Javits is going to be mobbed... Lines everywhere for everything.

I think that Friday and Saturday morning will be only way to go shopping in peace.

After going to the 1st Las Vegas Comic Expo just over a week ago, I think next year they will probably double in size if they have it at a nice venue again. Which should bring out more dealers as well as increasing the awesome artist list that they had as well. :headbang:
