First 3-D Comic Book

I get a daily e-mail from the Retronaut website and this appeared in today's e-mail. Thought it was pretty cool (1st 3-D comic book in 1953).

3-D comics were the rage for a short while. I have a couple dozen of these 50s books and some vare surprisingly well made. I'm not sure how well most sold as many of them cost 25 cents as oppossed to the normal 10 cent books.

They sold insanely well for about 10 months to a year then the excitement of it all kind of brought it down to normal print runs. I am pretty sure the first few comics Mighty Mouse, Tor etc sold into the millions with multiple print runs. Even with the 25 cent cover price they we're pretty hot.

I collect these titles but only with the glasses in and in 9.0 or better, which can be a real challenge. Try digging up a 9.4 ELL with Rootie Kazootie, 3D Action, 3D Love or even 3D Romance in 9.0 and better.

I prefer raw as I enjoy reading through them. Next to my Famous Monsters these are easily my favorite section of my personal collection. Still need plenty of titles to make the set complete, but it is a fun and very challenging good time.

Who else has a focus on collecting 3-D titles? Love to hear some stories.
