I barely did any purchasing this year. This is definitely my #1 though:

1) Rocko's Modern Life, "Manic Mechanic" title card

I miss Rocko... excellent show, and that is a great episode

Thanks so much! Great to meet another fan.

It is a great show and it's one of my favorite episodes too.

I actually have the OA cover and opening splash to Rocko's Modern Life #4, but I purchased that in late 2011, so I didn't post it lol

Acquired this one this year, but didn't hang on to it long.

Lucked into this one too, but passed it along to another collector and still walked away with the second restored copy for my #1 keeper.

...and my #2 keeper

These two tied for third place as keepers.

I got the Turner and Moldoff from a friend of mine in the area who was getting out of the hobby. He was the original owner of both pieces and sold them to me for less than $500 total.

The Turner sketch was done at a 2000 convention and the Moldoff was a commission from 1994.

I've had to unload a bunch of nice stuff to pay for my top 3 2012 acquisitions, a trend I hope to continue in 2013 (fewer, nicer books).

It's tough to narrow it down to the top 3, as I had about 5-6 books that could shuffle into the #2-3 spots after my clear #1. I didn't buy any huge books, but I did get quite a few I was excited about and/or were nemesis books.

My clear #1, and a big book from the top of my want list:

My second best acqusition of 2012, a serious nemesis book (very tough to find in grade):

My choice for third best, narrowly winning out over a few others, was my first White Mountain book:

#1

Since I got yer #92 SS, when you gonna sell me this one? :baiting:

I'll let my kids know you're interested so they know who to contact when I die.

That book's going to my grave with me. Too much sentimental connection.

Pretty lean year for me when it comes to major purchases. I guess this is probably my top book for the year.

A Dustin NGuyen convention sketch. Love his artwork and his Batman related stuff seem to be really hard to find (although there's a Poison Ivy on eBay right now).

I really don't have a 3rd in mind. Most of my other purchases were modest upgrades or mid-grade stuff to fill in the collection. I guess this is the closest to a 3rd I would pick. Not the most expensive book, but it's a book I've wanted for nearly 30 years and vowed that I would one day get (assuming the price was right).
