Ultimate War??

I just read a new copy of Wizard (yes I get it occasionally), and was wondering what this "Ultimate War" was that they're talking about?

Ultimates take on the X-men b/c they told the world that they had killed Magneto in that first 1-6 story arc of UXM. Now Magneto is back in action and the Ultimates and Shield think that the X-Men are in cahoots with the Brotherhood. They are currently on issue 2 and issue 3 is out in the next couple of weeks?

And it's MARVELous. (Which means that it is so-so storytelling at best, but people will buy it because of the label under which it is printed.)

Is it any good? Art is on par with Ultimates...storyline is good if you've been following issues of Ultimate X-men...it sort of a spin off of Magneto returning after Xavier mindwipes him....last time this happened didn't we get this unstoppable badass Xavier alter ego ....

Have to disagree with this, the guy on Ultimate War (don't remember the artist but have flipped through the book) can't hold a candle to Brian Hitch.

Chris Bachalo's work is comparable and appealing enough. Hitch's work is great but I'd say Bachalo comes in a VERY close 2nd.

Liked Bachalo's work back in the 90's on Shade and Generation X. His work is nice, for sure. But Hitch is doing some amazing stuff on the Ultimates.

In my opinion, it's worth picking up Brian. Now if only they can get the Ultimates out on a regular basis.....
