GOLDEN LAD

14 posts in this topic

Just going through my collection, matching it to my list, when

I ran across a copy of GOLDEN LAD #1 from July 1945. The

indica lists Mac Raboy as Art Director...but the book does not

seem to contain any of his work. It does contain the origin of

GOLDEN LAD by Morton Meskin and the origin of SWIFTARROW

and his "...powerful crossbow." by Perry Williams. Along with

SANDUSKY and the SENATOR and the KID WIZARDS

it's really quite a good book.

I plan to spend time between Christmas & New Year's getting

set-up to provide scans of my collection...any help or recommendations

would be appreciated...remember I'm not all that computer savvy.

Anybody know if the CANON CanoScan Lide 110 would serve my

purposes...simple, but adequate? It's on sale for $44.99

I use an HP Photosmart C4480 All-in-One Printer-Scanner-Copier

It has some problems and has to be restarted every now and then but it does a lot and saves space in my crowded office. Most of the combination scanners are cheap too. However, it eats a lot of printer cartridges.

I had a better HP scanner and Photoshop software which were really good together and made sparkling copies but both have broken down and had to be replaced.

The C4480 model might have been replaced since my scanner is several years old now. It was about $100, more or less. when I purchased it.

You should buy a digital camera too. The pictures are not as sharp as scans but it gives you more flexibility. And I use mine for taking pictures of the grandchildren.
