When I was a kid growing up in the UK, I only knew about pre-code horror through cheap black and white reprints. Hadn't a clue about the history of them, or where they came from. One of the ones I most vividly remembered was this one, The Metamorphosis of the Gkmloooms, which terrified the living daylights out of me - but then I was only nine years old at the time! But it helps me imagine what the impact of PCH books must have been on the young kids who read them back in the early '50's.

 

It's from Worlds of Fear #3, and it was a nice surprise to find it again after all these years, so I thought I'd post it here.
