I have to agree #1 cover is a fail. I guess he wants save to nice cover to RRP. But what is inside the book is good read.

I honestly don't see how they didn't find the character development of this issue well executed?

After all of that, they close with this:

"the tone, atmosphere and visuals of "East of West" are unlike any other book on the shelves, and it accomplishes more than enough of its ambitions to make it engrossing and worthwhile."

Not that reviews mean anything, but CBR only gave the book 3 1/2 stars:

Here are the other 11 reviews I could find.

I think most agree with most of us lol

I was thinking the exact same thing when I finished reading the review. How can you close with that strong of a line and give 3.5 stars? Should have left it off for it to make sense.

Not all reviews are equal.

The book needs constant solid reviews from sites with the most traffic to keep getting new readers.

Just a few of us here shouting wouldn't do much to increase readership.

Judging by the print runs through Issue 5, It isn't just us. You know it'll be on everyone's "best of" list for 2013. And it hasn't even released its first trade yet, which is a huge driver for new readers.

If it stays on time and continues the fresh writing, I don't see how this comic won't catch on with a wider audience. Even guys from the Silver Age forum are popping in and talking about how much they like it. And they're like, OLD.

..and wise lol

This book is not just a hot book. It has a core that is expanding around here. I think it will continue to grow. I think with no second prints for #5, your seeing how the new readers are impacting sales. Its sold out and Midtown is limiting to one per customer. Good stuff

The how is important to me (sorry, I worked in marketing)

It will be cool to see, for instance, that this title or a review of it ranks for "best comic 2013" in google. That is a sure way to increasing readership every month since the search is bringing new folks.

Getting positive reviews on high traffic sites is also another powerful marketing channel. CGC itself gets a lot of searches so I am sure all the positive talks help in a way.
