FS: Showcase #34 (coverless) -- first SA Atom

2 posts in this topic

Showcase #34: Bought a small pile of coverless early SA Marvels recently, and this was the lone DC.

This copy is 100% complete and readable with supple paper and the centerfold attached. Note the 2 extra staples (unnecessary), which were probably used to re-attach the cover when the book still had one (there's a small bit of cover stock still stuck underneath the bottom extra staple).

For what it's worth, I also happen to think that this is one of DC's better SA "revival" origin stories, and is cover dated just one month earlier than Marvel's FF #1, in which "cosmic rays" instead of "white dwarf star" radiation produce the requisite unusual super-powers. What a gas it must have been to be a kid back then and reading this stuff as it came out!

:takeit: rules, PayPal preferred, NO probies/hos'ers, payment due within 3 days of closing the deal.

$28 promptly shipped and insured via Priority Mail in the US only.
