namisgr
Beautiful Bostons, Russ. With so many ultra-high grade issues from the mid-60s onward, it once again makes me wonder about how far back the Boston pedigree runs. In racking my brain, I can't remember a single Boston book that pre-dates late '64. Is my brain simply addled (a distinct possibility), or does the pedigree truly start around '65? r100comics
Great book Bob. That's possibly my favourite S.A. cover of all time ! My own 9.4 oww would possibly be the last book to go in my collection.

AussieRuss
Just had a look on Pedigree comics website & found a really nice Boston copy of SGT Fury #9 from August 1964. Thats about as early as I can find at the moment.

AussieRuss
Its "Oakland" time Below are most of my late Silver/Early Bronze age Oaklands. Can someone please tell me what comic cover is reprinted on the "Where Monsters Dwell" cover below. Once again the blue cover is just amazing. Its one of those covers that makes me happy to own this book every time I see it. (Thanks Doug Schmell) Another one from Pedigree Comics And another from Doug. It has taken me a long while to find this one but it popped up for sale in England last December Last one. Again Purchased from Doug. AussieRuss
Here are some pics of my 3 Northland Pedigree Books. These also come with a nice Certificate. One for the Conan Fans Below is a fairly common book unless you want a pedigree'd version. A great D.C. comic. Really screams of the 60's And here is one of the Certificates Notice That CGC graded it 1 grade higher than shown on the certificate Edited May 26, 2005 by AussieRuss
sfilosa
Very, very nice books. You're putting together a heck of a pedigree collection.
r100comics
Can anyone comment on how accurate the grade on the COA has proved to be against the CGC grade. On the above example Brother Power The Geek #1, COA was 9.0, CGC was 9.4. Off the top of my head, all of the COA grades exactly match the CGC grade on the 4 or 5 Northland J.I.M.s I own. paperheart
i've got two slabbed northland's HOS cgc 9.2 which michael graded nm- and showcase 61 cgc 9.4 which michael also graded nm-.
sfilosa
Very accurate. Doug Schmell bought a lot of the Northlands from Motor City and says the CGC grades have common back as good or better in most cases.
namisgr
FF13 Northland was graded VF/NM by Motor City, and received an 8.5Q from CGC.
sfilosa
FF13 Northland was graded VF/NM by Motor City, and received an 8.5Q from CGC. Obviously, there would be exceptions. Plus it's possible a slight amount of damage occured AFTER Motor City sold the book. Why is it Qualified?
AussieRuss
Well another Pedigree that I know absolutely nothing about is the "Bethlehem" Pedigree. Everytime I hear the name it conjurs up thoughts in my mind of a middle aged Jesus Christ sitting at a table showing all the deciples his comic collection. Anyway if you are religious person I don't mean to offend. Edited May 27, 2005 by AussieRuss
goldust40
Russ, the Bethlehem pedigree is the easiest to identify due to the shop stamp on the back. It's not a top pedigree as the grades are variable but it's noteworthy and established.. And it's Bethlehem PA, not the one five miles south of Jerusalem.
