PUTNAM, CT — Doryce Leader McCauley, 79, died Sunday, March 16, at her retirement home in Ellisville, Mo., after a brief battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Barton McCauley. She leaves her children, Brooke McCauley of Newberry, Fla., Bryan McCauley of Mystic, Robin McCauley Bozark of St. Louis, Mo., and Bruce McCauley of Newark, Del.; four grandchildren; and innumerable cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

She was the sister of John Leader Jr. of Dayville and the cousin of the late John R. Sheridan. Born in Putnam to the late John Leader and Ellen White Leader, she still returned every summer to her cottage at Alexanders Lake in Dayville. Burial was in Leeds Cemetery, Elkton, Md. In lieu of visitation or flowers, the family requests donations to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 628, Hartford, CT 06142

 

Doris was 11 when she bought this book. She had a little brother, John Jr., 8 years old. Her dad was an electrician. Her mom, Ellen, was an immigrant from Ireland.

Whoa...epic history. Nice work connecting the dots on it's lineage. I bought the book from a seller awhile back who found them all in storage/attic (I helped em identify some other issues they had trouble with, due to detached covers, before selling on ebay) but never knew the story.
