It was entered in the system wrong.

Another reason to not buy the label folks.

Quality control has dipped a bit in the last few months eh???

hm

What do you mean by "It was entered into the system wrong"?

Was that particular piece of information suppose to go somewhere else?

How would someone 'accidentally' type that into the label text?

WHY would someone type that into the label text?

:gossip: It was entered as Universal when it should be Restored

This is what we refer to as human error. It happens sometimes, regardless of the QC measures put in place.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, the book is not in a restored label nor is it designated as 'apparent 9.0', right?

Edit- didn't see there was a second page.

Got it.

Hopefully that's what is up with the grade as well - that URFC is terrible for a 9.0 book.

There should be some validation on their entry database.

For example if the entry person is entering in the grading notes and selects (I assume it would be a selection of possible note types with a text field for things like signatures so that there is consistency) TRIMMED this should automatically populate the Category with Restored.

Would be some extra coding but reduce potential error.

I would recommend the same course of action. If not auto populated at least a double check station that would pop up a warning based on key words selected to populate fields. IE. COVER TRIMMED would pop a warning that this should be restored before continuing further, or "Signed by" would pop a warning that this should be signature series before continuing.

Accidents can happen when people are involved in the process but it should never be excused as "it happens sometimes". This is why quality is supposed to be built into a product, not inspected into it. CGC needs outside help from a quality professional.
