Might have something to do with all the attics, basements and garages I’ve picked through in my quest for junk. Rats suk too... I hit a garage with several boxes of old pulps once. I opened the first one and seemed like hundreds of spiders flew out. I about wet my pants. Made damn sure I kicked the rest of the boxes first before I stuck my hand in... Living in your warmer climate(tricolor gets more in AZ!)you get more hot nasties than myself up in the Canadian wastelands,at least my part of Ontario.Aside from rats, everything freezes for a good part of the year. There are always a few home invading critters every fall, but small for the most part. Larryw7
Looks like fun. I've never owned a pre-code DC horror comic. porcupine48

From the several dozen I've read, the stories are reasonably OK, but there is no gore. Larryw7 and porcupine48

I got back into buying a little over a year ago and just can’t see the prices for beaters holding, but so far, they have. Any hope from those who are more active than me? For the tried and true classic covers, there is probably little hope of them coming back down to where they were just a few years ago. Most of these books saw slow increases for at least 15 years after the big increases in the 90s, and were undervalued in respect to their perennial popularity. Now they often sell for up to 10X what they did maybe five years ago, and while they may soon stall for a while, making a reasonable deal a bit easier on more common lower grade books, I don't seem them being remotely cheap again. The next tier may be more susceptible. There are dozens of more recently considered classic PCH covers, usually involving some combination of babes and skeletons, that seem to have gone from nothing special status to being $500-$1500 books in VG. I suspect that when the next cooling cycle arrives for PCH, that the demand will not be strong enough to sustain these prices. While everything is pricier than it was a decade ago (the $25 PCH book can no longer be found unless it's coverless), there is still a fair amount of cool stuff out there for under $100 in lower grade, it just might not have the craziest cover. bounty_coder, Larryw7, porcupine48 and 3 others
shiverbones
Thanks, that helps I know the big books are gone, but the middle tier has some beauties I hope drop a bit. originalisbest

Eventually I expect more middling-copies of not super-duper books should calm down in price, but even then it won't be predictable, some will and some won't. I am happy with the mix I have, certainly wouldn't have as much luck if trying to buy them today.
