Jayman
Finally picked up a decent copy of this. Looks like a crime comic, and in fact does contain three crime stories. But it also contains one of my favorite pre-code horror stories, which is also one of my favorite Jay Disbrow stories, a Lovecraftian little tale called "Ultimate Destiny!" Great story thanks for sharing, never saw that one before! Seems a bit more "Dorian Gray" to me but I do see the Lovecraft elements. Sarfa
OK say you had $100-$150 max, what pre-code horror book (if this is even possible) would you get? There are a few copies of Out of the Night #1 on eBay within that price range that I'm considering. I'm not overly worried about it being high grade. But I would like the cover in as good of condition as possible for that price range.

Larryw7
Just added Crime Detector 5 to my wantlist. Got this low grade copy of Men's Adventure 22 from Jim Payette, just in time for Halloween.

Soft-Serve
Picked this one up in an antique store down in Wiliamsburg this past weekend. Pretty funny comic. Captain Easy isn't a Captain or Easy as far as I could tell, but he got the job done!
BB-Gun
Picked this one up in an antique store down in Wiliamsburg this past weekend. Pretty funny comic. Captain Easy isn't a Captain or Easy as far as I could tell, but he got the job done! There are several Roy Crane fans posting on the Golden Age boards... but I think this is the only Captain Easy cover that belongs on the pre-code thread. Cannabalism and good girl art by Schomburg. Doohickamabob
Is it bad etiquette to post about a comic that is still being auctioned? If so, I apologize (I have no affiliation or knowledge of the seller, FYI). I just think this comic is really cool and I've been enjoying watching the auction play out: Chilling Tales 16 on eBay 32 bids though it mostly looks like 3 bidders in a war. I love the cover. VERY VERY tough pre-code right there, with a killer cover. Took me a long time to find my copy, with thanks (once again) to the other Andy across the pond.
