A comic made SPECIFICALLY for me... posted by Jonjor

Or rather, a comic that happens to be highly coincidental to me.

This is my first post, so let me preface this post by saying that I'm fairly young, and therefore don't have a considerably large source of income. That being said, I thought I'd share something that I think is pretty cool with you.

I've always been a huge Spider-Man fan; I'd say about 90% of my comics are in some way, shape, or form related to him. During my constant searches for interesting Spidey comics, I came across one that excited me, not because of its rarity or worth, but because of the way that it spoke to me on a personal level.

Amazing Spider-Man #302 came out the exact day that I was born- July 1 of 88. This is a cool coincidence in and of itself. However, the thing that really got my attention was the cover itself. I was born in Kansas...the title of the issue that came out the day I was born? "Chaos in Kansas."

Again, nothing spectacular about the comic, but highly special to me. Does anyone else have a comic that's special to them for a quirky reason like that? Thanks for reading!

Hey Jonjor, thanks for writing! That's a great story. You should add this book to your registry along with any others you may have. I don't have any books that are special for a quirky reason, but like you I do take note of those that have my birth month/year. Good luck with the rest of your collection!

That's pretty cool! Thanks for sharing.

I don't have any comics that have a strange and unique connection to me in such a way.

The one birthday comic i hope to own is Thor 166 which was published in July, 1969. Why is it special? It features one of my favorite heroes in only his 2nd full appearance: Adam Warlock. But aside from that it had no special connection unlike your birth comic.

Welcome to the journals and i look forward to reading more about what you are collecting.
